CONCEPT

Experiment 2

Neutra:

-          Neutra’s architecture aimed to create simplistic aesthetics through elimination of traditional decoration.

-          The landscape becomes as important to the aesthetic as the interior, large windows and house plan committed to enhancing the experience thereof.

-          His context in a rapidly expanding industrial world influenced his architecture, the fordists theories of mass production can be seen in the geometric construction of his works.

-          His use of windows in his pavilion houses eliminated outer walls, minimizing material waste and enhancing the view of the outdoors.

-          His designs disregarded size and focused on the integration of the environment and the building.

-          His pragmatism is reflected through his internationalist architecture, his structures use glass, steel and concreted to create aesthetically appealing designs which are structurally integral.

-          Pragmatic, international style, rationalist, fordistà henry ford

The video comes from film "Inception" about the stair I design in the below studio for Louis. The stair is set in the giant glass sphere which is just above the water level. The idea of my design was to keep people moving around the studio but feels like they never get to the end of stair, which is quite similar to the movie. Since Louis' artwork is always relate to the environment. It is great to have a stair which lead the visitors to all around the studio for the artwork and also the 360 degree view of the outside environment. In this way, the stair integrate the artwork and the nature beauty.
